Mark Mori is available to present a screening of Kent State: The Day the War Came Home in person. Mori has a long history of speaking about the anti-Vietnam war movement. He was a political activist and organizer in the movement from 1968 until the end of the war. He participated in an anti-war publishing operation which printed a a great deal of anti-war literature, including 2 underground GI newspapers, Left Face (published at Ft. McLellan, Anniston, AL, starting in October 1969), and, Rap, (published at Ft Benning, GA. Starting in November 1969).
Mori was a member of the Emory University chapter of Students for a Democratic Society (SDS) – the largest student anti-war organization in the country – and help organize Atlanta’s city-wide SDS chapter. Mori participated in organizing and leading large contingents in anti-Vietnam War demonstrations in Washington DC, Atlanta, Chicago, Detroit and other cities. After the war ended, Mori continued his activism with a career in filmmaking with such notable films as Kent State: the Day the War Came Home, 2000 Emmy Award, Best News and Documentary; Building Bombs, 1991 Academy Award nominee, Best Feature Documentary and The Fire This Time, 1994 Sundance Film Festival, Grand Jury Prize nominee.
